No, wait a minute that’s not right…I have joined the one -out of 3 big- neoliberal parties that is not in power…hmm again this does not seem right, surely joining one with power is the smart move, d’oh. Nevermind, I have joined the Labour Party in order to harangue them into sending my voting papers so I can vote for the person best placed to deny David ‘Hillary told me not to say anything about torture’ Miliband the leadership. If he wins I will resign immediately but probably still won’t get the record for shortest membership (as that is held by a confused and incompetent-as-usual George Osborne when he tried to simultaneously pay his gas bill online & search for certain ‘special interest’ pregnant lady sites and got a little mixed up).
Thank you for the messages that helped me to make this shameful, wretched decision. May you all burn in Hell as I roll around in big beds full of money Demi Moore style after Tony Blair makes me an indecent proposal.
Am I not taking this seriously enough? I would if my views were represented equally as those of oligarchs, war pimps, corporate sociopaths and Peter Mandelson (tautologies, we got ‘em) but they aren’t. So at least I can make a small gesture to -perhaps- deny an Iraq voting, torture cover upping, Atlanticist chump from putting the last nail into the coffin of the only nominally lefty-ish power tribe in Westminster.
Tune in next week for news of my campaign to become Pope (‘Hey it turns out the hero is not King Herod at all, there’s like a totally different message you can get from that novel and you’ll never guess what it has to say about people with palaces and great wealth. Whadya mean have I seen Godfather III and that Robbie Coltrane movie?’)

A strait jacket will be dispatched as soon as I can afford one!
That’s very generous, I like it quite roomy in the neck, nothing worse than a strangulated feeling as you bounce off the walls triangulating.
Congrats on becoming an establishment tool, dude.
I can only hope I can stay humble when I get a Noble prize for running the world’s largest war machine, *sniff*
You should run a caption contest on that picture selection!

Back on topic: You can still vote against the LaborTories, can’t you?
Good entry!
Wow, good clip, yes the people of Dublin did Ireland proud, sets the bar very high for the London protest

Just look at the minders around him, that is not a sign of a democracy with accountable leaders, that’s a ruling class being despised.
Yes, of course, whether they like it or not, if DM is defeated I will let the year pass then review but probably if I voted against Labour I would first resign anyway, they either become a proper social democratic party and ditch the neocon and neoliberal crap or it’s D. I. V. O. R. C. E. as Dolly Parton sang.

The only reason I can see for resigning is if you are planning to join the LibDems to support a leadership challenge against Nick Cameron. *very evil grin*
But, I have zero loyalty to political parties. My main reason to be a registered Democrat this year is to vote against the scumbags who are pissing me off in the primaries.
At the rate of LD’s leaving they might even pay me to join…
Yep I think loyalty goes both ways and until they actually represent us we should not play the faithful yet abused spouse, principles to (re)build a party not tribalism.
I was thinking more along the line of “………..and he doesn’t write, and he doesn’t call.”
or
…….”and he even took MY money!”
Both good expressions of how a citizen feels towards politicians who need our votes in order to not represent us once they get into power!
Caption ? We Torture !
and then cover it up.
I see that you have auspiciously timed your decision to join the party to coincide with the launch of a former party leader’s biography.
Ah yes-

can’t say that actually featured in my mind, as it is too revolting to contemplate, I feel dirty enough already!
